Great music and performances have been a part of the NC Child Hunger Leaders Conference for many years, and 2022’s virtual event is no different.

Pierce Freelon

Pierce Freelon (Durham, NC) recently received a Grammy nomination for “Best Children’s Music Album.” He recorded a hello to child hunger leaders and intro to his song “Cootie Shot.” The music video includes previous conference performers, Paperhand Puppet Intervention theater company (Saxapahaw, NC).

NC Arts in Action

North Carolina Arts in Action empowers children in elementary schools statewide through dance and live music programs accessible to all students regardless of abilities and socio-economic status.

Kidznotes

Kidznotes’ mission is to change lives through ever-expanding participation in youth orchestras, bands, and choirs. Musicians from Kidznotes have performed at the conference many times.

Yolanda Rabun

Yolanda Rabun is a North Carolina-based recording artist who favors jazz and soul, and has toured worldwide. She introduced performances of two songs related to the conference’s “Silver Linings” theme.

The Burnett Sisters Band

The Burnett Sisters Band from Boone, NC, is equal parts old-time and bluegrass, country and gospel.

The Hamiltones
